The Town of Maine Board of Supervisors held a special meeting at the Maine Fire Department on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
AGENDA
1. Call the meeting to order – Tad Schult, Town Chairman
2. Discussion and possible action regarding fire department audit outline.
3. Discussion and possible action regarding fire department audit by laws.
4. Adjournment.

Special Board of Supervisor Meeting
The Town of Maine Board of Supervisors held a special meeting at the Maine Fire Department on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Chairman Tad Schult called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.
Present were Chairman Tad Schult, Supervisor Wes Schoepke and Supervisor Rusch. Fire Department officers present included Acting Chief Bob Pound, Lieutenant Paul Anderson, Lieutenant Joe Bozinski and EMS Captain Jim Sala. Fire Department members present were Mike Wanke, John Rakow and Brec Ohrmundt.
Discussion and possible action regarding fire department audit outline was item two on the meeting agenda.
The group worked on the audit outline. Audit outline items below were discussed.
Training schedule is complete and posted. Training schedule to be e-mailed to officers or supplied via copy.
Designate a training officer. This item is completed.
Schedule pump training. This is an ongoing item and training must be documented. John Rakow stated that driver training is more important than pump training.
Personnel to present training sessions in a rotational manner. Suggestion made that individual members may request to assist in a training session or volunteer to train.
Fire Department job descriptions. Review of sample descriptions is in progress. Will re-address in 60 days.
Create a recruitment plan. Lieutenant Joe Bozinski will get website setup cost and information from person that created Weston Fire’s website and get that information to Supervisor Schoepke. John Rakow suggested Maine Fire be present at the Maine School Chili supper.
Create a four person interview committee. Interview committee has already been established.
Fire Chief to submit candidate letter to the Town Board. This item is completed.
Safety officer training. Acting Chief Bob Pound will get safety officer training schedule from NTC.
ISO Specifications. Need records and training logged, hose test records and tanker trucks tested to meet ISO specifications
Create equipment committee. Officers to determine equipment committee procedures.

Special Board of Supervisor Meeting
Submit officer meeting minutes. This item is completed by Lieutenant Joe Bozinski after each officer meeting.
Discussion and possible action regarding fire department bylaws was item three on the meeting agenda.
Discussion followed on the Fire Department By Laws and revisions suggested by the officers. Town attorney has reviewed and made adjustment to By Laws language. Need to revise “required” wording to “preferred” in officer job descriptions.
The group then discussed and prioritized fire department matters:
1. Fire Department budget
2. Job descriptions and fire department website
3. Equipment replacement schedule or plan
4. Review and revision of Fire Department By Laws

Adjournment. Chairman Schult called for a motion to adjourn. Supervisor Schoepke made a motion to adjourn at 8:55 p.m., seconded by Supervisor Rusch. Motion carried.

2. Work on job description (in conjunction with website construction)
3. Work on equipment replacement (2 -5 -10 year plan)
4. By-Laws

Chief Pound to make contact to check if still interested
Need to work on list of interview questions to be consistent for each candidate
Bozinski will check with HR department at work if there is a standard list of questions for review by the officers.
