A Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors for the Town of Maine was held at 8:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2003, in the Town Hall, 6111 North 44th Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401.
Agenda for this meeting was posted on September 23, 2003 at the Chapter Two Restaurant, Northside Citgo, Richard’s Supper Club, Schmidt’s Bar and the Town Hall.
Present were Chairman Utecht, Supervisors Duane Grunenwald and Marty Zernicke, Treasurer Marilyn Grunenwald and Clerk Betty Hoenisch.
Chairman Utecht called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
Chairman Utecht stated that the Special Town Board meeting had been called to approve a resolution authorizing the Town to borrow $81,487.42 from People’s State Bank for the purchase of a 2004 International plow truck. Chairman Utecht explained that at the July 14, 2003 Town Board meeting Supervisors Marty Zernicke and Duane Grunenwald had approved the purchase of a new truck.
Chairman Utecht requested that the Town Board members read the Certificate, Arbitrage Certificate, Installment Note and Resolution that Atty. Freeburg had prepared for Peoples State Bank and the Town of Maine for the truck loan. Treasurer Marilyn Grunenwald questioned the amount of the Town’s debt obligation. The clerk called Atty. Freeburg for clarification on whether the new truck loan should be included in the debt obligation statement. The clerk made a correction to the Certificate to state that the Town’s total debt obligation was $472,858.03.
Chairman Utecht called for questions and stated that the clerk had prepared a form that showed the amounts owed to Northwest International and Monroe Truck Equipment minus the down payment of $8,800.00 from the sale of the 1991 International truck. Chairman Utecht stated that a motion would be in order. Mr. Zernicke made a motion to approve the resolution as written to authorize the Town to borrow $81,487.42 for the 2004 International Truck, seconded by Mr. Grunenwald. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Grunenwald, to adjourn at 8:40 a.m., seconded by Mr. Zernicke. Motion carried.
