The Board of Supervisors of the Town of Maine will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Maine Town Hall on Monday, October 12, 2009. Accounts Payable will be reviewed at 6:00 p.m. with General Business at 7:30 p.m.

Board of Supervisors Meeting
Minutes:
Chair Hoenisch called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Clerk Walter explained that she has September 14th, September 21st and September 28th, 2009 meeting minutes that will need to be approved. Chair Hoenisch asked the Supervisors to make a motion to dispense of the reading of the minutes and make any changes or corrections. Supervisor Schoepke made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Schult. Motion carried.
Chairperson’s report:
Chair Hoenisch reported that Honey Bee and Laredo Lane are now paved.
Chair Hoenisch reported that we did receive payment for the contractor that dumped at our yard waste site for the cost for Tito, Inc. to chip truck loads of trees that had been excavated from a property.
Chair Hoenisch reported that the Dairyland Academy was approved by the Plan Commission and Town Board. On October 6th the Land Conservation Zoning Committee approved the rezone, so now it’s in the County Boards hands.
Chair Hoenisch reported that road worker John Marquardt and she have gotten all the way through faze two of the address signs.
Chair Hoenisch reported that she’s called the President for Village of Brokaw to get the dialogue going for 32nd Avenue. Wanted him to come tonight, but he wasn’t able to come. We need to know for our budget.
Supervisor’s report:
Supervisor Schult reported that we’re waiting for the gas company on 4th Avenue on moving a gas pane so we can reset a culvert.
Supervisor Schult reported that up in Billy Goat Hills, there is wood lying along the road. Road worker Bill came along grading 2 weeks later and it wasn’t away from the road so Supervisor Schult stopped and threw it. Tad stopped and talked to the wife and kids about this.
Supervisor Schoepke reported that the new plow truck will be built the week of October 26th.
Supervisor Schoepke reported that the Town Board will be meeting with officers of the fire dept., October 28th to get working on a new fire dept.
Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Marilyn Grunenwald reported on the Town’s bank accounts ending September 30, 2009:

Supervisor Schult made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s report, seconded by Supervisor Schoepke. Motion carried.
Zoning Report for August and September 2009 – Zoning Administrator Rich Grefe reported that he had issued six permits and completed twenty two inspections in the month of August. In September he issued six permits and completed eleven inspections.
Other Business:
First item of business was discussion and possible action to approve election inspectors for 2010 and 2011. Table this item until December meeting.
Next item of business was discussion and possible action on Raze Order for the 15525 N. 20th Avenue property. Chair Hoenisch explained that the Zoning Administrator Rich Grefe, road worker John Marquardt, herself and the realtor were in the property today. She explained that we pretty much knew from the outside that this would be a raze order but had to make sure. This home is so illegal, non conforming. She explained that this was a home that went through the foreclosure process and there is $55,000.00 owed against it. Chair Hoenisch went on to explain that the realtor was paid $8,000.00 to clean it up and it should’ve been torn down before. On the tax roll, the home is valued at $26,000.00 and the whole property is valued at $40,000.00 and according to our ordinance it could only be rehabbed up to $13,000.00. Supervisor Schult made a motion to go ahead with the raze order for 15525 N. 20th Avenue, seconded by Supervisor Schoepke. Motion carried.
Next item of business was discussion and possible action to approve Town Attorney to draft quit claim deed for Honey Bee Lane outlot from McEvoy’s to the Town. Supervisor Schult made a motion to approve Town Attorney to draft quit claim deed for Honey Bee Lane outlot from McEvoy’s to the Town, seconded by Supervisor Schoepke. Motion carried.
Next item of business was discussion and possible action to approve Town Attorney to draft quit claim deed for Laredo Lane outlot from Mary and Lee Van Der Geest to the Town. Supervisor Schoepke made a motion to approve Town Attorney to draft quit claim deed for Laredo Lane outlot from Mary and Lee Van Der Geest to the Town, seconded by Supervisor Schult. Motion carried.

John Marquardt mentioned that the compost is gone from the yard waste site.
Schedule the 2010 Budget Workshop for October 26, 2009.
Schedule the next Board of Supervisor Meeting for November 9, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. for bill approval and general business at 7:30 p.m.
Chair Hoenisch requested a motion to approve bills payable. Supervisor Schoepke made a motion to approve bills payable, seconded by Supervisor Schult. Motion carried.
Motion by Supervisor Schoepke to adjourn at 9:30 p.m., seconded by Supervisor Schult. Motion carried.
