Special Board Meeting
A Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. to review and discussed the proposed 2008 Budget.
Chairperson Hoenisch called the Special Board meeting to order.
Present were Town Board members Chairperson Betty Hoenisch, Supervisor Tad Schult, Supervisor Sue Shore, Treasurer Marilyn Grunenwald and Clerk Tammi Walter.
Chair Hoenisch distributed 2008 proposed revenue and expense charts. She also presented the Board members with a revised 2007 Budget verses Actual chart. She explained that this chart has the actual road project amounts needed in 2008 for crushed rock road base, pulverizing, paving and shouldering
Chair Hoenisch also explained the $100,000.00 and $200,000.00 road project loan amounts and interest rate. She said that with out a loan the Town will not be able to finish the roads that were prepped this summer for paving in 2008.
Chair Hoenisch explained that Wausau Schools, North Central Technical College, Marathon County and the State have all increased their tax levy this year. She explained that taxes will have to increase if the Town wants to continue to reconstruct all the bad roads in the Town.
After much discussion Supervisor Schult stated that he felt that the Town Board should present the budget with the $200,000.00 loan for approval at the Budget Special Town Meeting.
Supervisor Schult made a motion to adjourn at 2:50 p.m., Seconded by Supervisors Shore. Motion carried.
