May 2, 2007 Special Board of Supervisors Meeting
Meeting adjourned at N. 4th Avenue and reconvened at Town Hall.
First item of business was discussion and possible action on the North 4th Avenue reconstruction project.
Discussion followed on the increased cost of the 600 feet of North 4th Avenue that needs to be totally reconstructed. Calculations were made for 3M’s crushed rock donation and trucking costs for the rock which could be taken over the next two (2) years. The consensus was that 3M needs to contribute to the project to justify the amount of maintenance to that road and the Town will need a agreement for the proposed rock donation.
Motion by Supervisor Schult to approve the North 4th Avenue paving project provided that 3M provides 10,000 tons of crushed rock or a minimum value of $30,000.00 of crushed rock to be used on any Town road project in the next two (2) years, seconded by Supervisor Shore. Motion carried.
Next item of business was discussion and possible action to approve a new public works employee.
The supervisors discussed the two candidates that have almost equal qualities however the one candidate was a town resident. That person has also worked part –time for the Town in the past. Comments were made that it was important to check references and this may be a deciding factor.
After much discussion Supervisor Shore and Chairperson Hoenisch offered to check references.
This item of business was table until a Special Meeting on Monday, May 7, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Supervisor Schult made a motion to adjourn at 10:10 p.m., seconded by Supervisor Shore. Motion carried.
