OFFICIAL NOTICE AND AGENDA

The Board of Supervisors of the Town of Maine will hold a special meeting in the Maine Town Hall on Monday, June 15, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.

Agenda

1. Call to order - Betty Hoenisch, Chairperson
2. Supervisors will travel town roads to view prospective 2009 road projects.
3. Meet with Town residents on N. 60th Avenue, Hillcrest Drive and N. 4th Avenue regarding culvert and ditch projects along roads that are proposed to be paved in 2009.
4. Travel back to Town Hall to review 2009 road bids, state paser road rating chart and proposed 2009 road projects.
5. Adjournment

Special Board of Supervisors Meeting

A Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors for the Town of Maine was held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009.

Present were Chairperson Betty Hoenisch, Supervisor Tad Schult, Supervisor Wes Schoepke and public works employees John Marquardt and Scott Czyan.

Chair Hoenisch called the meeting to order.

The group travel to County Road A and N. 60th Avenue to view ditches, culverts and other road issues that need to be addressed for the 2009 paving projects.

The group then traveled Hillcrest Drive from N. 60th Avenue west to N. 72nd Avenue.

Peter and Phyllis Seubert, Vince and Debbie Gau met the group to discuss their private way and drainage issues.

The group then traveled N. 4th Avenue from Decator Drive south to the City of Wausau boundary line. Several residents along N. 4th Avenue met with the group to make suggestions and ask questions about the project.

Discussion followed on a 50 to 100 foot paved approach on Decator, paved turn aprons on Decator and N. 4th Avenue and culvert end wrapping. This list of items will be presented to Craig Schaefer from American Asphalt at a special meeting before the N. 4th Avenue project commences.

The group then traveled Belmont Road and N. 6th Avenue to determine height of rock lift, tree removal, ditching and culvert installation. These granite roads are proposed to be paved after American Asphalt completes the N. 4th Avenue project.

The final road to be traveled was N. 60th Avenue from Decator Drive north to Falcon Drive. Several residents met with the group to discuss culvert installation and ditching issues.

Last item of business was to review 2009 road bids, state paser road rating chart and proposed 2009 road projects.

Chair Hoenisch distributed copies of excel road bid charts.

Special Board of Supervisors Meeting

The group reviewed the bid charts for granite, crushed road base, shouldering, pulverizing, 2 � inches of compacted hot asphalt, 3 inches of compacted hot asphalt, chip seal, slag seal, crack filling and the N. 4th Avenue TEA Grant project.

Discussion followed on proposed 2009 projects, funding for the projects, possible project contractors and quality of work. Chair Hoenisch stated that the supervisors should review the bids and be prepared to make a decision on either June 22nd or June 29th. A date for a bid award meeting will be finalized as soon as she has approval from the Department of Transportation on the TEA grant.

Motion by Supervisor Schoepke to adjourn at 10:45 p.m., seconded by Supervisor Schult. Motion carried.
