Agenda for this meeting was posted on December 23, 2005 at the Chapter Two Restaurant, Northside Citgo, Richard’s Supper Club, Schmidt’s Bar and the Town Hall
Minutes:
1. Chair Hoenisch called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
2. Other Business
A. The supervisors reviewed, stamped and approved the invoices presented.
Supervisor Wanke made a motion to accept the bill payables, Supervisor Zernicke seconded that motion, motion carried.
B. Discussion and possible action to approve the $200,000.00 equipment/road project loan from People’s State Bank. Supervisor Wanke made a motion to approve the note, certificate and resolution for the $200,000.00 equipment/road project loan, Supervisor Zernicke seconded that motion, motion carried.
C. Chair Hoenisch stated that a motion was needed to approve the Public Works wage increase, the extra vacation day and the Healthcare Subsidy increase for 2006 that had also been discussed and approve at the November 2005 Budget Public Hearing. Supervisor Wanke made a motion to approve the 2006 personnel policy for the workers of the Town of Maine, Supervisor Zernicke seconded that motion. Motion Carried.
E. Discussion about the writing off of un-collectible Ambulance/Fire Department invoices commenced. Treasurer Grunenwald stated that the City of Wausau is increasing the ambulance rates that will be charged to their residents or their insurance providers. Discussion followed regarding Town of Maine residents that are self employed and have high deductibles, Medicare residents that the Town is required by the state to write off any remaining balances after Medicare and their other insurance makes payment and non residents that have accidents on I-39 and have no auto insurance. Chair Hoenisch stated that she felt we should work with Town resident to lower the amount that residents with high deductibles pay because we are accepting assignment of benefits from other resident’s insurance companies for a lower amount than the bill. Chair Hoenisch also stated that she felt that the Town should send the bills from people that are not responsible and do not carry auto insurance to the small claims court. Supervisor Wanke made a motion that each case be discussed reviewed and a decision made on each cases as needed, Supervisor Zernicke seconded the motion, motion carried.
Supervisor Zernicke made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:38 a.m., seconded by Supervisor Wanke, motion carried.
