December 29, 2003
A Special Meeting of the Board of Supervisors for the Town of Maine was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2003, in the Town Hall, 6111 North 44th Avenue, Wausau, WI 54401.
Agenda for this meeting was posted on December 23, 2003 at the Chapter Two Restaurant, Northside Citgo, Richard’s Supper Club, Schmidt’s Bar and the Town Hall.
Present were Chairman Utecht, Supervisors Duane Grunenwald and Marty Zernicke, Treasurer Marilyn Grunenwald, Clerk Betty Hoenisch, Atty. Byll Hess and community members.
Chairman Utecht called the meeting to order at 1:25 p.m..
Chairman Utecht stated that the first item of business was discussion and possible action on the Waste Disposal Ordinance. Chairman Utecht asked if there were any questions regarding the public hearing or the ordinance and if not a motion would be in order. Mr. Grunenwald made a motion to approve the Waste Disposal Ordinance with the recommended changes, seconded by Mr. Zernicke. Motion carried.
Chairman Utecht stated that the next item of business was to approve the Industrial Recyclers of Wisconsin contract for town wide garbage and recycling. Atty. Hess explained that he had some corrections that needed to be made to the contract and also that the new Waste Disposal Ordinance should be referenced in the contract. Atty. Hess stated he would give that information to Esther Martin at IROW. Mr. Zernicke made a motion to approve Industrial Recyclers of Wisconsin contract with the recommended changes, seconded by Mr. Grunenwald. Motion carried.
Chairman Utecht stated that the next item of business was the Town’s 2004 Insurance Policy. Mr. Utecht explained that the best quote had been from Laub and Horton, which included replacement coverage for buildings and equipment, and also the VFIS Insurance for the Fire Department. Marilyn Grunenwald had questions on the Treasurer’s Bond and there was discussion on the amount needed for that bond. Mr. Grunenwald made a motion to approve the Laub and Horton 2004 Insurance package for $11,579.00 with the addition of a $100,000.00 Treasurer’s bond, seconded by Mr. Zernicke. Motion carried.
◦ The supervisors reviewed the year-end bills and Chairman Utecht asked for a motion to approve.
Mr. Grunenwald made a motion to approve the year-end bills, seconded by Mr. Zernicke. Motion carried.
Mr. Zernicke made a motion to adjourn at 1:45 p.m., seconded by Mr. Grunenwald. Motion carried.
