Minutes:
Chair Hoenisch called the special meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.
Chair Hoenisch reviewed the refinance note and corrected the minor errors. People’s State Bank was quoting 5.1% interest for municipal loans but they will match River Valley’s Bank rate at 4.85%. Interest rates have come down 40 points since People’s quoted the 5.58% in July 2006.
Supervisor Wanke made a motion to accept the fire department tanker truck refinance note at 4.85 percent, seconded by Supervisor Zernicke, motion carried.
Chair Hoenisch explained the Humane Society of Marathon County, Inc. contract for services. The Town of Stettin also this contract. The Humane Society will not address animal issues in the Town of Maine unless this contract is signed. There are fees associated with this service that will be charged to homeowner.

Supervisor Zernicke made a motion to approve the Marathon County Humane Society Contract and have our Attorney draw up a resolution allowing billing for debts incurred, seconded by Supervisor Wanke, motion carried.
Due to complaint on flies, clutter and yard issues Lester Krueger our building/zoning inspector stopped at the property. The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department was notified. A Deputy met Chair Hoenisch to inspect the property. Dead and abandon cats were found. The Humane Society was notified. They rescued several cats and were taken to the shelter. Deputy Shelby from the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department has contacted Mr. Steffen (the present known tenant) and Mr. Steffen has surrendered the key for inspection.
Supervisor Wanke made a motion to inspect 3900 Decator Drive and for the Town authorize to inspect 3900 Decator Drive, seconded by Supervisor Zernicke, motion carried.
The Supervisors and workers traveled to Swiderski Implement to check out the new tractor/mower. Chair Hoenisch asked Supervisor Zernicke if a ten foot broom is available for the new Tractor. It would be too heavy for the front end. We added a strobe light, a radio, and wheel weights to the new tractor. A strobe light, radio and fluid in both tires were added to the tractor.
The Supervisors approved the invoice and the bill was paid; the tractor will be delivered today.
The Supervisors traveled to Julian Drive to inspect road for possible approval at the September 11, 2006 Board Meeting.
Supervisor Wanke made a motion to adjourn the meeting at seconded by Supervisor Zernicke at 9:40 a.m. motion carried.
